Q. How will I be taught?

All Tlc courses are distance learning programmes (or part distance and part onsite intensive) if you select the study vacation option. Courses consist of a number of input modules, with self-assessment questions in each, followed by an answer key (for self re-evaluation) and then by a tutor-assessed worksheet. This form is most important and should only be returned to the course tutor when you are sure that it is as close to correct as you can get it.

Q. How am I assessed?

By continuous assessment. All coursework is continuously assessed and every worksheet tutored and graded. In this way you can keep track of your progress throughout the course, and any difficulties or doubts can be ironed out as they appear.

Q. Are your courses accredited?

Yes. They are accredited by ACTDEC - the Accreditation Council for TESOL Distance Education Courses. Please check our accreditation page and see for yourself.

Check out our Accreditations >

Q. Do I need set books?

Yes, any professional course will have set books. They are very important to your background knowledge, and help (with our own input materials), to form the base for you to build on. Tlc courses include your set books in the course price (level 1 x 3 books and level 2 x 4 books) and they are delivered (free of charge) to your door.

Q. Can I see some of your course material?

Certainly. Check out our sample material >

Q. Must I be a native speaker to do your courses?

No! Non native speakers are more than welcome. In fact, some of our best trainees have been non native speakers. We actually telephone interview all prospective candidates before courses start — so your level of English can be discussed then.

Q. Is there a time limit for course completion?

No! That’s another plus for distance training prorammes. As no two people work at the same pace, have the same work commitments or study-time possibilities, Tlc courses are completely flexible. Just pace yourself — you can take as long as you like.

Q. What’s the difference between a TESOL course and a TEFL course?

Basically nothing — they are generally accepted as interchangeable. There are a number of confusing acronyms in the EFL world which can lead to bad decisions.

Please check out our acronyms page using the following link.
