With 3 units each comprising 3 modules it’s the ideal programme for gap year students, and covers:
- The Practice of TESOL
- The Teaching of Pronunciation
- Language Awareness.
Examination is by continual assessment of the worksheet assignments. There is no written examination, and on course completion certificates are awarded by Tlc and ACTDEC for the Level 1 qualification and post-nominal designation Pre-Cert.(ES)TESOL.

Successful candidates may also receive an ACTDEC Certificate under the seal of the Council if they have applied for such a certificate at the time of registration.
- All Preliminary Certificate of Educational Studies in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages course participants are required to be registered with the Accreditation Council for TESOL Distance Education Courses. - Applications for assessment and examination will be accepted by the Centre on the understanding that candidates will be assessed according to the requirements of the agreed syllabus and that they comply with the examination regulations.
